X-Project - An X-Men Movieverse RPG - Phase 1 Journal Now Closed

This journal belongs to the X-Project RPG. The Phase 1 version of this character has been retired from active play. The journal is kept for continuity purposes. For more information on the relaunch, please go to our FAQ.

You can also see the Phase 2 version of Everett here.

X-PROJECT is an X-Men Roleplaying Community on Livejournal inspired by the Marvel Movieverses. Combining the X-Men movieverses with the other existing Marvel properties, we use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and the slate has been wiped clean on all of our available and retired characters.

Link to Game Information/Application: Applications can be found here. Please read the previous history of the character before applying. A test log with the mods will usually be required, and we'll ask prospective players to communicate with players in the cases of significant relationships with a played character (eg: If you want to app Pietro Maximoff, you'll be asked to ping Wanda's player, to ensure continuity). See the FAQ on Applications for details.

That is Not Cool.

Everybody else seems busier than I am and worried about bigger things than me. I feel like I'm too boring to worry about anything besides homework and what to get my sister for Christmas. Maybe it's kind of selfish, but I like thinking about how much field hockey sticks cost. You know you're in trouble when sports equipment makes more sense than everything else.

So if anyone wants to be selfish with me, that would be cool. Or I can be selfish by myself. I guess that would be cool too.

Look, everybody. I made a Halloween costume.

And it's this way. Does this thing work? )

I made it with somebody's marker and somebody else's piece of paper. Now I need to steal somebody else's tape. I'm going as someone who isn't me, like the picture says. My costume is cool.

I went to visit Paige for a little while. She seems okay. Or at least I hope she's okay. It wouldn't make much sense if she wasn't okay.

I think I'm going to go read again. Books make more sense.

I have a black and white sock. Should Sock-Faxman invade the sock puppet theater? I can come up with a theme song and everything. Since I'm not creative, it would mostly be along the lines of "Faxman! Ring-ring-ring-ring ring-ring-ring-ring Faxman!"

Also, I can't sing. Maybe I should just sit in the back and throw socks. Every superhero should have a Secret Sock Attack.

Since everyone else seems to be baking things, I kind of tried to make cookies. They didn't come out right. This is completely unrelated, but there's a burnt cookie cutter and a broken mixing bowl in the garbage in the kitchen. I don't know how they got there. I had nothing to do with it.

Does anyone want a couple of charcoal bricks? They make great weapons, but they don't make very good cookies. If no one wants them, I'm going to make them into Faxman's Secret Baking Power.

Just so everybody knows, it might be a good idea to stay away from me for a little while. I can't make the strobe light go off. I'm going to hide in the library. No one else goes in there anyway and I can't do much damage if I strobe light at a book.

Um, I don't think it can. What if I turn into Mark Twain or something? I don't want to turn into Mark Twain. That would not be cool. At least it's slowing down now. Why can't I breathe fire or something sane like that? I feel like I belong in Saturday Night Fever.

I feel kind of bad, since I don't have finals. I keep thinking I should be working. So I assigned myself some extra reading. There isn't much on being a strobe light, so I'm trying to find something about transferring energy. I assume that's what I do somehow.

I'm also looking for biographies of famous lawyers and politicians, and I'm seeing if there are any good books about the so-called Monkey Trial and the creationism vs. evolution debate. I should reread Charles Darwin's book too.

Assuming I can figure out where it is. I went looking for Locke today and what did I find? Books by someone named Pratchett. Pratchett is not Locke. This is not cool.

I'm going to email my old teachers back in St. Louis and see if they'll send me coursework over the summer. I really want to take the APs next year.

Two of my uncles are doing some research about mutant rights and how mutants are classified. That's why I'm holed up in the library, because I've been reading the stuff they sent me. It's really interesting, and kind of disturbing. A couple of proposals don't even want to classify us as human. That's wrong.

I guess I've been lucky. When it turned out that I might be a mutant, my parents didn't care. My little sister Kim thought it was cool. No one in my family cared. Everybody said that if I ever met someone who cared, I should talk to them and the entire Thomas family would come down on them. I don't think that means much here. But in St. Louis that does mean something. No one tried to bug me anyway. I don't think any of my neighbors or my friends cared as long as I didn't cheat at chess.

I kind of thought that everybody else would be like that. I guess I was wrong. And I'm really dumb for not noticing sooner. If I made anyone mad or hurt anyone because I was really dumb, I'm sorry.

I think I'm going to stay in the library tonight. I've got more reading to do.

Huh?

A really small me ran by. Weird.

If someone wants to make Faxman a mini-me, could they tell me first? I don't mind. It was just really weird. Like Alice in Wonderland, but without tea parties. Or talking cats.

Um, we don't have talking cats, right? Or did I miss a memo? We need memos.

I should probably put this in the student community, but I'm not going to.

Mr. Logan, I know you're trying to teach us to fight and stuff. But leave Rahne alone. And don't talk about stuff like that, because she was covering my butt. I was being a wimp. Teachers are supposed to be professional. And it's my fault I don't like hitting girls.

Everyone else, I know there are a lot of things going on. I don't really understand them. But I'm here if anyone wants to talk. I have Snickers.

I miss St. Louis.

Mr. Essex gave a really interesting lecture. I think I understood most of it, but there are a few things that went over my head. Maybe I'll go over my notes this afternoon.

Everybody has been kind of moping lately. I think it might be because people are busy with classes and stuff. Or maybe not. I think there is a lot of stuff going on here that I don't understand. I kind of miss home, because Kim may have hit me with her field hockey stick a lot, but at least she was happy about it. I hope everybody's okay.

I have Snickers if anybody wants them. The care package came today. Ignore the granola bars and the hat Aunt Joan sent me. I don't wear orange plaid.

Saturday

I really liked the BBQ. Jamie and Kitty, you guys did a really good job organizing everything. The music was great. Terry, your berries were really good too. I'm not mad about the picture. But I still think you gave me really bad hair and someday I'm going to get even with you. If I hit anyone with a water pistol, I'm sorry about that. I was aiming for Terry.

Bobby, I hope you don't mind that I helped you out with the ice cream. It was really good. My mom and dad sent out a care package yesterday, so if you don't mind maybe you can make us all frozen Snickers bars whenever the package gets here. Maybe we could play football or something one of these days. I promise not to strobe light at the football if you promise not to freeze it.

I think I'm still full from the BBQ so I'm going to go sit in the library later or maybe outside and get some reading done. Mr. Essex is going to give a lecture that looks really interesting. I should read up on some stuff before I go. For now I'm going to go back to the Quantum Leap marathon. I tried to tell people about the physics that would be involved with that kind of TV show, but then someone hit me with a pillow, so I think I'm going to forget about science for now. Bye everyone.

Sam? Jamie? Someone? Can I camp out in your room tonight? Someone happened to my bed. And to the wall. And, well, to the rest of my dorm too.

I'm going to go hide all my stuff in the library now.

Er.

What did I get myself into?

I want to be at this school. I want to meet other mutants and I want to learn about what I can do, because if I don't I'll do the walking strobe light thing again and wind up copying everyone's powers. As much as this mutant thing is pretty cool, I don't want to spend the rest of my life looking like something out of that Beatles movie. You know, the one where they're in the submarine and I think they're all really high?

I really want to be here. I do. But geez, some of the people here are kind of mean. Not everyone. There's really nice people too (Hi Sam!) and I think I just got a really grumpy welcome wagon. It's just making me stop and think, you know?

And now you're probably all wondering who the heck I am. Hi everyone. I'm Everett or Ev. I'm from St. Louis and I'm sixteen. I didn't even know I was a mutant until a couple of days ago, so learning about what I can do and what other mutants can do is going to be really cool. At least I hope it is. Let's see, what else... Oh yeah, my parents promised to send a big care package as soon as they go grocery shopping again, so if anyone wants lots of Snickers bars just let me know. I think there might be some healthy stuff in there, but we can just ignore it.

So. Um. Hi. Here I am. I'm going to write an email to my little sister and then I'm going to go exploring before I crash for the night. I hope I meet some of you today.
