(no subject)

Since everyone else seems to be baking things, I kind of tried to make cookies. They didn't come out right. This is completely unrelated, but there's a burnt cookie cutter and a broken mixing bowl in the garbage in the kitchen. I don't know how they got there. I had nothing to do with it.

Does anyone want a couple of charcoal bricks? They make great weapons, but they don't make very good cookies. If no one wants them, I'm going to make them into Faxman's Secret Baking Power.

Wondered what that smell was. :) You okay, man?

Y'know, I bet we could rig a slingshot pretty easily--wonder how far those things'd fly?

This is completely unrelated,

I have my doubts...

I had nothing to do with it.

And about this one. :p

Secret Baking Power

One of the first things to keep in mind is, if the dough is breaking your utensils before you've even cooked it, don't bother. ;)

Seriously, 'tis easier if you do it with someone at first. Recipes are easier to follow if you've seen what they're talking about before.

Yeah, that's how I learned, helping Mom (and Dad, with the grill stuff.)

Ooh, hey, you should show him your oatmeal cookie recipe. Oatmeal cookies aren't that tricky and they taste really good.

That would be a dangerous and very bad thing to do.

I have a rubber band and two sticks we could use.

Maybe I should ask you for help next time.

[identity profile] x-synch.livejournal.com 2003-07-17 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I will use Faxman's Secret Baking Power on you. Then you will be sorry.

That sounds like fun. :)

I have a bicycle tube and some rebar. The key word here is "firepower." What else are these huge grounds good for? ;)

And if you're in a hurry, you can eat them for breakfast without feeling very guilty. ;)

(Actually they're probably a healthier breakfast than some of the cold cereals I've seen here!)

Re:

You will not. No throwing burnt cookies at the Kitten. It would go badly...

Xerox Boy would be forced to mutiny, for one thing.

Thank you. :-*

Besides, hitting the kitten is not an easy task.

Oatmeal is good on its own... at least when 'tisn't stale... but you've seen how much honey I'll put in given the chance. There may be less sugar in the biscuits....

'Course, I'm hardly one to talk.

Oh bother....

[identity profile] x-synch.livejournal.com 2003-07-17 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a lot of open space right in the front yard and I'm not doing anything sometime tomorrow night. I can get a hand crank or something by then, too.

Dr. Mimeograph could hit the Kitten.

I'll let you know when I try to cook again. I need to find a new mixing bowl first. Someone broke ours, you know.

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-17 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a plan. I'll bring some measuring equipment, we'll pretend it's a physics experiment.

Heck, it could actually be a physics experiment. There's probably some instruments around here somewhere that'd be able to measure the amount of force on the bike tire, and now I'm all curious about how well we could predict where they'd land.

Re:

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2003-07-17 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
*scowls* No he could not.

I have a pair of stockings and an easel. Can I participate in this science expirement?

Science is fun if it means I can throw burnt cookies.

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, course you can.

And the cool thing is, even if we can't find the cookies afterward to make sure where they fell, they're biodegradable. :)

They're Faxman's secret Stealth Cookies.

The Blackbird of baked goods.

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Betcha Hank would let me borrow them. And if we're talking physics experiments, I'm in. ;D

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
S'right. It's an academic endeavor. Not like we're just catapulting burnt cookies across the front lawn for the heck of it, or anything. This is for science.

Re:

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
*grin*

I suspect we could easily get Hank to join in on this. Heh. After all, we're talking science here. ;)

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I was gonna invite him to come watch when I went to ask about the measuring stuff.

Re:

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Watch? You really think he could only stick to that?

Oh dear. You have no idea...

*starts laughing*

This I must see! :D

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
If he wants to help build the giant slingshot I'm all for that. He probably knows where the really good materials are and he doesn't have to ask permission to use them. :D

Re:

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be afraid if I weren't looking forward to this so much. Heh!

He'll like the challenge of the tire though. No doubt there. ;)

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there's nothing like a bike tire for building giant slingshots with, believe me. I'm just glad I hadn't figured that out yet when I was seven and convinced I was going to grow up to be Superman.

Re:

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Let me put it this way. With Hank pitching in, we may have to tag the cookies just in case we need to be able to fetch them back.

...

We may want to make sure there are no airplaces passing overhead as well.

*grins*

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Or have Sam try to pace them in flight, or something.

This is going to be so cool. :)

Re:

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure he'd love to join in. Was planning on dragging him along anyway. ;)

Re:

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-07-18 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. I figured. Just like I'd be silly to try a physics experiment without my tutor along. ;)
