Everybody else seems busier than I am and worried about bigger things than me. I feel like I'm too boring to worry about anything besides homework and what to get my sister for Christmas. Maybe it's kind of selfish, but I like thinking about how much field hockey sticks cost. You know you're in trouble when sports equipment makes more sense than everything else.

So if anyone wants to be selfish with me, that would be cool. Or I can be selfish by myself. I guess that would be cool too.

Oh, man, Christmas presents. I haven't even started thinking about 'em yet.

How much do field hockey sticks cost, anyway? Not that I'm planning on getting them for anybody, but what the heck.

Am just about to go pick Kitty up from ballet and stuff her with ice cream, but I'll send a dupe over, we can brainstorm what to get people, maybe?

They cost a lot. If I made field hockey sticks I would be really rich. You're not getting one for Christmas, just so you know.

Brainstorming sounds good. I stole the TV but I think the little kids are going to make me watch bad cartoons if I don't get help.

Eh, I've already got a hitting people stick from self-defense class, so I think I'm about sticked out anyway.

'Yana's got that Pokemon look in her eye, doesn't she? I'll be right down.

Thanks. I don't like electric rats. They are not cool.

I am perplexed as to why thinking about hockey sticks and their purchasing price is selfish but I'm willing to be selfish.

Being selfish by yourself is no fun.

But not shellfish. Itchy I suspect.

Why are we talking about seafood?

I was merely mentioning seafood. Your emphasis made it actual talking about.

So, why are we talking about seafood?

I don't know. I don't even like seafood.

Can we talk about something else?

If we were still talking about seafood I would mention my fondness for crab and lobster but we're not.

We can certainly talk about something else. How about I let you choose, since I inadvertently came up with the subject we're not talking about.

We can't fix a lot of the things there are to worry about right now. Thinking about how to be nice to people in ways we can do something about makes sense to me.

I've made a list of people I want to give things to, but haven't decided what, mostly.

I just ask people what they want. It makes life easier. Unless you're my sister and want your own field hockey team.

Well, aye, I suppose it would. Her own team?

...

All right. What would you like? (If 'tis apple oatmeal bars, keep in mind they may be late. I think the kitchen might be taken up for other things just at the time, somehow.)

I wouldn't mind late apple oatmeal bars.

What do you want?

Och, here's where it doesn't make things so easy, I don't know....

A book maybe? Or some drawing paper; Marie-Ange has tried to teach me a wee bit....
